HAHA! I'm turning 20 tomorrow, so today, me, my gf, my friends and family are going to John's Incredible Pizza Co. I've never been there so I don't know what to expect. It doesn't really matter, I'm sure it will be cool.

Also, You probably noticed that my site is alot different. A little work was done to try and make my site more eye catching than just drab and boring. I hope you all like it!

I'm out for now, I need to go get ready for my party, w00t

Bottled Water

Branching out from now-blasé plastic bag bans, Seattle has banned city purchases of bottled water.

Officials in Seattle say they’re motivated by economic and environmental reasons - as well as regional pride in their water supplies. Seattle’s tap water comes mainly from rainfall and melting snowpack from two protected watersheds.

Seattle predicts it will save $58,000 of public money by asking (okay - telling) city employees to drink from the tap, which costs pennies on the dollar compared to eight bucks a gallon for bottled water. In addition, the city won’t be contributing to the massive fossil fuel use in transportation of or waste disposal problems associated with plastic water bottles.

City employees don't need to worry about the safety of tap water - municipal water supplies are continuously tested against at least one hundred federal EPA standards; but standards for bottled water are merely suggested by the FDA.
San Francisco was the first to derail the Culligan-man gravy train in 2007, saving their state an estimated $500,000.

Internet Speeds

So I thought to myself the other day, I wonder how much it would cost to get faster internet to my house... I went online to our providers website, AT&T, and saw they had for package options. They had a $20, $25, $30 and $35 with speeds of 512Kbps, 1.5Mbps, 3Mbps, and 6Mbps respectively. I went and asked my dad what we pay for ours currently. We were paying $35 a month. This got me thinking, why are we paying the price of the best plan for the speeds of the $25 dollar package speeds? (I did speed tests and converted the kilobytes per second to kilobits per second.) So I call up AT&T, and after waiting on hold for 10-15 min (no joke) I finally got to discuss this dilemma with an agent.

SO! Just by making one phone call, I get to find out that they had recently lowered their rates, but never bothered to inform their customer. Jeez, you think that might be a good idea. So what is going to happen, after I told her how unfair and displeased I was, is that we are going to be getting twice as fast internet, for $5 less a month! We are getting a free upgrade to the $30 package, AND she credited our account $35 for one month because they were charging us without letting us know the difference.

All in all, I'm stoked we are getting faster internet!
:)
